Thumb-coloured catchpenny print w. 4 woodcuts depicting acrobatics, sheet size 41 x 33.5 cm, printed in Zaltbommel by Johannes Noman for F. Holtkamp in Sneek, (c. 1815), with title and "No. 27" in upper margin.
Folded several times and w. small tears/tiny holes on folds. Good copy for this kind of print. Boerma, Borms et al, Kinderprenten, volksprenten, centsprenten, schoolprenten. Populaire grafiek in de Nederlanden 1650-1950, p. 234-238 and p. 791, list Noman and Noman en Zoon no. 27. De Meijer p. 61 and Noman cat. 27; cf. De Meijer p. 284 and Van de Sande cat. 27. One of the prints Noman took over in 1814 from W.G. van de Sande & Co in Amsterdam, where the print was also numbered 27. And 4 other catchpenny prints, incl. the Glenisson en Van Genechten-variant using the same blocks and the same title (Turnhout, c. 1850, numbered 182), and prints depicting "De Jaermarkt"/"La Foire", "Personnages de Théatre" and dwarfs playing various instruments issued by Brepols.
