Patrick Ewing 1984-85 New York Knicks Rookie Jersey Patrick Ewing was considered such a prize prospect coming out of Georgetown, the NBA had to introduce a draft lottery in order to prevent teams from tanking games in effort to secure a better chance of obtaining Ewing's services. The lottery, which gave each of the 7 teams not in the playoffs an equal chance of securing the first overall pick, was won by the New York Knicks, who selected Ewing first overall in the 1985 NBA Draft. He was named NBA Rookie of the Year by averaging 20 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks per game. Very soon, he became one of the premier centers in the league. Ewing was an eleven time NBA All-Star, was named to the All-NBA First Team once, to the All-NBA Second Team six times and to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team three times. He was a member of the original Dream Team at the 1992 Olympic Games, winning a gold medal. In 1996, he was also given the honor of being named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. This New York Knicks home mesh jersey was worn by Patrick Ewing in his rookie season of 1984-85. In the neck is the "Cosby" label. On the left tail is a white patch with "6"LB" done in computer print and denoting six extra inches in body length. Next to this label is the "Sand-Knit" label with the size "44" and above this is the "Sand-knit" exclusive label. Across the front is the name "New York" in orange tackle twill on a blue tackle twill backing and on the back of the jersey is the name "Ewing" in blue tackle twill. His player number "33" appears on both the front and back of the shirt in orange tackle twill on a blue tackle twill backing and Ewing has autographed the front number. LOAs from MEARS (A10) and Grey Flannel.
