PRAYERBOOK, in Dutch, ILLUMINATED MANUSCRIPT ON VELLUM [Netherlands, Delft?, 1475] 161 x 110mm, 202 leaves, complete, collation: 1 2 (1/1 blank) 2-6 8 7 10 8-13 8 14 6 15-26 8 . 23 lines, justification: 117 x 69mm, written in black ink in a littera textualis, rubrics in red, 29 three- or four-line decorated initials with penwork red and blue half or ¾ border, ILLUMINATED PAGE on f.2 verso (slightly cropped) and facing page f.3, 19th-century calf over wooden boards (stitching of upper cover broken). Provenance : Aert de Cort and Elizabeth de Cort (16th-century inscription on first blank); Adolfo E.Schramm (19th-century bookplate) The illuminated page on f.2 verso in the style of Delft illumination, has the names 'Jhesus, Maria' in gold and blue, in the centre a clock in form of a wreath, border of scrolling flowers and leaves with golden bezants, containing an angel, a peacock, an ostrich and a pelican in her piety. The facing leaf has a prayer attributed to St.Bernard, with a six-line decorated initial and a fine penwork blue and red border, containing a small figure of Christ with the instruments of the Passion. A prayer to the body of Christ, offering indulgencies, on folio 40v, is dated 1475
