A mixed lot with a few very scarce views including Charles Bierstadt #1 of a locomotive (at left) and the Starucca House, Susquehanna on the Erie Railroad; W.C. Shultzaberg & Co. view the famous "John Bull" train in May 1893 enroute from Jersey City to 1893 Chicago World's Fair passing through Altoona; F.M. Yeager of depot & tracks at N. Seventh St, Reading, Pa.; L.E. Walker #713 of early tall-stack locomotive on iron railroad bridge over the Susquehanna; James Cremer of early tall funnel-stack locomotive & roundhouse at Altoona; anonymous of rear of locomotive and depot at Cresson StAttion, Allegheny Mts.; E. & H.T. Anthony #495 close rear view looking across tender showing steam gauge with coil siphon (according to Burchard penned note on verso); Purviance interior of Parlor Car; anonymous of Reading Depot; L.E. Walker of Mountain Top Station on Lehigh Valley R.R. Switchback at Mauch Chunk and more including 11 pirated copies. Mixed mounts. Provenance: The Ed Burchard Stereoview Collection Condition: Better views tend to be in better condition with overall nice tones. Pirated copies on lesser quality mounts show wear to most. An attractive and interesting lot.
