Title: SOLD BY PRIVATE TREATY Two early surveys & one deed for land in Louisiana i.e. Missouri Territory Author: ** Place: St. Louis Publisher: Date: 1804-c.1825 Description: Includes: Manuscript survey and description by Antony Soulard of land belonging to Jacob Horine in Alta Louisiana, in Spanish, with accompanying (and apparently later) translation in English. (The survey is neatly split into 4 pieces from being folded). 1804. * Manuscript deed for land belonging to Gabriel Cerre, in French, signed by Marie Philippe Leduc, with paper seal. On 1st page of 4-page legal-sized conjugate. 1805. * Large manuscript survey of “Township No. 39, North, Range & East,” showing land belonging to Pierre Chouteau and Thomas Madden, and many plots sold, also indication of unconfirmed claims of John Smith T and Elijah Benton. c.1825. Together, 3 items. Rare land surveys and documents from the early period of U.S. possession of Louisiana Territory. Provenance: Descended in the Benjamin O’Fallon family.
