Type: Haebler 19:105R (text); 18:80R b (commentary), 80 b Greek. Woodcut capitals, some 2- to 6-line initial spaces with guide-letters. (Some leaves browned, light dampstain in first few pages, lower corner of first leaf replaced affecting 3 letters.) Nineteeth-century mottled paper over pastepaper boards, leather spine label, red speckled edges). Provenance : inscriptions partly erased from title: Joh. Caspar Joh. Georgius ; a few later marginal annotations. Third edition with commentary by Beroaldus, here joined with that of Sabellicus, a member of Pomponius Laetus's Academy. Along with Plutarch, Suetonius was the great biographer of antiquity and his Lives of the Roman emperors have been used as source material for countless works ever since.
