The five cover photographs, four featuring a semi-clothed woman with a gun, are by Wallace Berman; the illustrated title is a facsimile of an illustrated letter to David Meltzer. Berman's small magazine Semina, was a series of limited edition, sent or given to his friends, generally consisting of collages mixed with poetry by various writers including Michael McClure, Philip Lamantia, David Meltzer, Charles Bukowski, William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Jean Cocteau John Kelly Reed and by Berman himself (under the pseudonym Pantale Xantos). Semina was published for nine issues, between 1955 to 1964. All are now rare. Lot Amendments Condition: Light wear to wrappers, short split at fold, ink price at top of front wrapper, a second price obscured by correcting fluid on inside of rear wrapper, pocket splitting at edges; very good.
