Williamsburg: William Parks, 1737. First edition of the first digest of the laws of the Virginia Assembly. 20th century cloth, black and red spine labels. 7 5/8 x 4 3/4 (19.5 x 12 cm); xlvii, [1], 345, [83] pp, collating pi^(4) a-e^(4) B-C^(8) D-3F^(4) 3G^(2) [errata]. Bar Association stamp on title, accession marks on verso, pale dampstain in upper margin throughout (affecting the first line or two of text), otherwise a rather fresh copy. A rare work dating from the year after Parks permanently moved to Williamsburg, and a very scarce work (like most Parks imprints, which seem to have been sold in small editions). The last copy sold was in the 2005 Snider sale and was lacking EE1-4 (sold at $7,800). Berg Williamsburg Imprints 23; Evans 4204. C The New York City Bar Association
