VON METTERNICH, KLEMENS WENZEL Document signed . Dated August 20, 1822, Vienna. Single sheet 11 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches (29 x 19 cm); twelve lines of text, with Metternich's signature ("C. v. Metternich") below. * KELLERMAN, FRANCOIS CHRISTOPHE [MARSHAL OF FRANCE]. Document signed. Dated 13 Ventose, 8th year of the French Republic (i.e. June, 1800). Single sheet 12 x 7 1/4 inches (30.5 x 19 cm); address etc. and twenty lines in a secretarial hand. * LOUIS-PHILIPPE I. Document signed. Dated November 20, 1844. Single sheet 9 1/2 x 7 1/4 inches (24 x 18 cm). Three items in all, each separately framed with portrait. In the first document, the great statesman Metternich records the return of a report on the Greek islands. In the second, Kellerman (the hero of Valmy, and Napoleon's honorary Marshal of France) protests that horses in his stable are not subject to requisition. The third document bears an exceptionlly bold signature by the Citizen King.
