WEB OF EVIL Nos. 20 and 21 * Lot of Two Comic Books Publisher: Quality [Indicia: Comic Magazines] Date Published: November 1954 Description: #20: VG- (3.5). Spine roll, tears to top edge of front cover (one tear folded), sun shadows to back cover edges, camphor smell. White to off-white pages. Cover: Chuck Cuidera? Art: Harry Lazarus?, Charles Nicholas, Louis Ravielli. GPAnalysis: No reported sales in any grades below 7.0. #21: Good+ (2.5). Spine stress, 3" split to bottom spine, creases and handling wear, camphor smell. White to off-white pages. Cover: Chuck Cuidera? Art: Shelly Moldoff?, Louis Ravielli, Charles Nicholas. GPAnalysis: No reported sales in this grade. A 4.0 sold for $149 in 11/19. A Hollywood FX man finds a way to mold human flesh like putty, and turns actors into monsters in the name of cinema verité. In another story, scientists detonate an H-bomb in the South Pacific, awakening a vengeful sea monster in a plot pre-dating the original Godzilla flick by two or three months. A limited edition of ten hardcover catalogues is available, in addition to a few dozen softcovers. Fun reference, great keepsake, fully illustrated, chockablock with obscure facts, gags, bon mots.
