1969 MORRIS MINI-COOPER S MK II TWO DOOR SPORTS SALOON Registration No. RUF 466H Chassis No. C-A2SB/1289127A Engine No. 9F-XE-Y/53069 Tartan red with black roof and black interior. Engine No. four cylinder, overhead valve, 1,275cc, 76bhp; Gearbox: four speed manual; Brakes: servo-assisted disc front, drum rear; Suspension: independent. Right hand drive. From the moment that the Mini arrived in 1959 it was obvious that Alec Issigonis' brilliant concept of putting an independently sprung wheel at each corner with a transverse engine in unit with gearbox and front-wheel drive, was an ideal recipe for superlative handling. All that was needed was more power, which was forthcoming in 1961 coupled to the name of racing car maker John Cooper Various engine sizes were offered in Mini-Coopers over the years, this being one of the Mk II cars with the largest 1,275cc unit. The car offered here is in very good overall condition. It has benefitted from a recent overhaul and comes complete with an MoT and British Motor Industry Heritage Trust papers. It is fitted with the optional reclining seats and a newer after market burglar alarm. A new set of tyres have recently been fitted.
