1986 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster Lot Number308 RegistrationC335 ADD Chassis NumberWDB1070412A046598 Engine Number10398222001743 Odometer reading106,953 miles Estimate£17,000 - £21,000 ResultSold - £24,080 Print details Send this to a friend 1 more image The iconic R107 Mercedes-Benz SL Roadster and SLC Coupé became so successful in the 1970's and 80's that it became their second longest production run surpassed only by the G-Class 4x4. Originally introduced in 1971 in 350 SL guise with a 3.5 litre V8 engine, it spawned some eight further engine derivatives and numerous options to extend the customers’ desire for the wonderful roadster until 1989. While the C107 or SLC enjoyed a brief but relatively successful stint in rallying, the Roadster was always intended for luxurious top down motoring and as such, attracted celebrity ownership and a host of film and television appearances, imagine cruising along French boulevards or through Beverley Hills and you will understand the target audience for this iconic SL Roadster. First registered on 16th April 1986, this good looking Mercedes-Benz is well presented in the very pleasant colour combination of Champagne metallic with a contrasting brown interior. In good condition throughout, the DVLA website shows an impressive 16 MoT test certificate passes. This 300 SL has been in the vendors tenure for six years and is described as tremendous fun to drive. The history file for this modern classic contains a stamped service book, various bills and receipts, a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate valid until 16th July 2021. These Mercedes-Benz SL models always prove popular at auction and C335 ADD should continue that trend.
