1999 Ferrari F355 F1 Spider Lot Number 289 Registration S991 VWF Chassis Number ZFFXR48AXX0114575 Engine Number 0114575 Odometer reading 5,990 miles Estimate £75,000 - £82,000 Result Sold - £78,400 Print details Send this to a friend 5 more images The Ferrari F355 was launched in May 1994 with two models available: the berlinetta coupé and the targa top GTS. The Spider became available in 1995 whilst, in 1997, the Formula 1-style paddle gear shift was introduced with the Ferrari 355 F1, the F designation being dropped before the 355 which added a further £6,000 to the dealer list price. Apart from the displacement increase from 3.4 to 3.5 litres, the major difference between the V8 engine in the 348 and F355 is the introduction of a five-valve cylinder head. This new head design allowed for better intake permeability and resulted in an engine that was considerably more powerful. The F355 was the last in the series of mid-engined Ferraris with the Flying Buttress rear window, a lineage going back to the 1965 Dino 206GT. This attractive example, presented in Rosso Corsa with tan leather interior, has covered just 5,990 miles from new. In 2015, the present owner purchased the car from its one previous owner/collector via a Ferrari dealer in Oregon showing only 4,700 miles from new at that time. This wonderful and desirable model has been serviced in the UK since its importation by Ferrari specialist, Joe Macari in London. Presented with the car are all the original manuals, keys, covers and tool kits. This Spider must certainly be one of the most desirable and low mileage examples on the market today.
