A GEORGE JONES MAJOLICA PUNCH-BOWL modelled as Mr. Punch lying on his back, being crushed beneath the weight of a large bowl, the surface moulded and coloured to simulate orange-rind and moulded in relief with a wreath of berried holly branches, the smiling figure wearing a white, yellow and blue jester's hat, a green doublet trimmed in white, yellow and claret and with blue leggings and black boots, the bowl glazed in turquoise on the interior, the circular moulded base glazed in mottled green, brown and black (bowl cracked in five places, part of third finger on left hand and one berry lacking, slight glaze flakes and crack to his hat, glaze crazing to bowl and to Mr. Punch, chip to his right shoulder, re-stuck at base and cracked below), pattern number 3448/30, impressed registration mark, circa 1874
