A LATE LOUIS XV ORMOLU-MOUNTED TULIPWOOD AND MARQUETRY SECRETAIRE A ABATTANT Attributed to Roger Van Der Cruse, dit Lacroix and probably supplied by the marchand-ébéniste Léonard Boudin The moulded shaped rectangular breche d'alep marble top above a waved fall-front with a ribbon-tied floral spray enclosing a fitted interior with two tambour doors enclosing an associated mahogany and mirrored interior above four small drawers, the angles headed with Greek-key enriched satyr-masks and acanthus, the lower doors enclosing a further fitted trellis-parquetry with two drawers above a coffre-fort, the waved apron moulded with C-scrolls and foliate spray on cabriole legs with C-scroll and acanthus sabots, restorations, the marble probably replaced, the exterior with water-damaged varnish resulting in a cloudy discolouration, stamped 'JME' 49 in. (107 cm.) high; 25½ in. (65 cm.) wide; 14½ in. (37 cm.) deep
