LATE 3RD-EARLY 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C.
A NEAR EASTERN BRONZE VESSEL STAND LATE 3RD-EARLY 2ND MILLENNIUM B.C. The openwork stand with a thick base ring and a vessel support ring above, decorated with central frieze of five entwined snakes between crested birds perched on arches, 8¾ in. (22.2 cm.) diam.; and a group of Near Eastern bronze vessels including a pouring vessel on high foot, the long spout attached with domed rivets, 6¾ in. (17.2 cm.) high; a shallow bowl with everted rim, the central omphalos surrounded by a petalled rosette, 6¼ in. (15.9 cm.) diam.; a beaker with raised ring foot, the rim decorated with separately attached lion heads, 3¼ in. (8.3 cm.) high; and a strainer ladle, the base with multiple piercings, the handle with turned back animal head, 5½ in. (14 cm.) high, all mainly 2nd-1st millennium B.C. and later (14)
