The 37 1/2 inch octagonal barrel in .54 caliber smoothbore. Fore-sight with silver blade. Simple adjustable rear sight. Lock marked Thos. Cor-/Warranted. Brass furniture comprising: three faceted ramrod thimbles, the forward two mounted in a wooden rib; engraved brass counterscrew plates, one of leaf-form, the other oval; faceted triggerguard, the flared finial with narrow terminus; engraved patchbox with boldly scrolling sideplates and pierced horse head finial; engraved toeplate; buttplate with faceted finial. Horn fore-end cap. Silver barrel escutcheons. Fore-end and wrist with panels of pineapple checkering. Maple half-stock with panels of fine inlaid silver wire scrollwork at front of fore-end, framing the barrel tang, framing the counterplate, at the rear of the comb and on the half-moon cheekpiece decorating the lower, fluted edge and framing the engraved oval silver inlay, the open center showing checkered wood. Condition: Very good. Metal with dark patina showing some light pitting. Barrel with second empty sight dovetail. Patchbox lid hinges broken. Stock with scattered light marks, bruises to checkering, small filled area to left side fore-end above checkered panel and with small replaced area in front of lock.
