A well detailed fully rigged static display model of the Schooner Yacht America , of circa 1851, built by W. Hitchcock with masts, booms, standing and running rigging and full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points, anchors, catheads, winches, cleats, deck rings, deck lights, aft cockpit with companionway, tiller and thwarts, capstan and two ship's boats. The hull, finished in black and 'copper'-plated to the waterline, is mounted on two turned brass columns, an inlaid mahogany display base and brass-framed glazed case with legend.
