ALLACCI, Leone (1586-1669). Apes urbanae sive de viris illustribus qui ab anno MDCXXX per totum MDCXXXII Romae adsuerunt, ac typis aliquid evulgarunt. Rome: Ludovicus Grignanus, 1633. 8 o (163 x 113 mm). Engraved vignette on title (light marginal dampstaining at beginning). Contemporary English calf gilt with large central coat-of-arms (rebacked, old spine laid down). FIRST EDITION, of the first bibliographical appearance of Galilei. Allatius describes 6 works by Galilei, but fails to mention the Dialogo Florence, 1632 in the bibliographical portion. He does mention it on page 70 as having errors in logic, physics, mathematics, ethics, theology and in sacred matters ("Galilaei errores Logici, errores Physici, errores Mathematici, errores Ethici, errores Theologici, atque sacri").
