AMATI, Scipione. Relation und gründtlicher Bericht von dess Königreichs Voxu im Japonischen Keyserthumb , translated by Tobias Hendschel, Ingolstadt: Eder, 1617. Engraved title, full-page engraved portrait. (Title with old manuscript inscription in upper margin and almost erased stamp in lower margin, causing 2 small holes, some spotting or light browning, light marginal waterstaining.) Contemporary boards, covered with an old manuscript leaf in Latin (lightly soiled, lacking ties, front hinges cracked but firmly holding, rear pastedown wormed with a few small wormholes in rear covers). ?FIRST EDITION IN GERMAN. First published in Italian in Rome in 1615, the work describes the second Japanese mission to Europe. Sabin 31333: "Contains an account of Peru".
