AN IMPORTANT GERMAN SILVER-GILT BEAKER NUREMBURG, CIRCA 1600, MAKER'S MARK OF CHRISTOPH JAMNITZER Of tapering quatrefoil form on spreading quatrefoil base, rising to a paneled stem flanked by four scrolling caryatid figures, the lower body chased with flutes below an applied beaded band, etched above with scenes of Daphne and Apollo, Perseus and the Sea-Monster, Europa and the Bull, and a scene of a Satyr surprising a Dryad, marked on rim, and engraved underneath 2 --4 1/8in. (10.5cm.) high (6 oz.)
