Contemporary blindtooled pigskin, on the upper cover the arms of the Holy Roman Empire and on the lower, the arms of THE EMPEROR MAXIMILIAN II, blue edges, full red morocco case with title in gilt on back. Provenance : Maximilian II, Holy Roman Emperor (1527-1576; his arms; a document signed by Maximilian II loosely inserted) -- Mortimer L. Schiff (bookplate; his sale, 7 December 1938, lot 1764). Adams A-1187.
