Title of New Testament within a large woodcut border, 2 woodcut maps and 18 illustrations, one full-page, in the text. (Lacks title and 7 preliminary leaves, lacks also the double-page woodcut of the Tabernacle and the double-page map, numerous defects and repairs, especially at the beginning, mostly resulting in slight loss of text, slight worming in inner margins occasionally touches text, some staining and discolouration). 19th-century calf. (Worn, both covers detached). Provenance : Thomas Yorke (contemporary signature on verso of B 3); John Ratfourth (signature, dated 1606, on recto of 4I7 and elsewhere); Trinity College, Cambridge, bequeathed by A. G. W. Murray (cancelled library label). STC 2109 (this copy lacking the Book of Common Prayer); Herbert 137. The third folio edition of the Bishop's Bible. Bound in at the end is John Marbeck's The lyves of holy Sainctes (London, 1574, STC 17304, defective): together 2 works in one volume, 19th century calf. (Worn and broken, both covers detached). Sold not subject to return.
