number 3 of 15 copies on Japon , from an edition limited to 300, this copy without the 2 additional suites of plates and the additional etching but with original pen and ink sketch of a lion purportedly by Chagall for one of the plates tipped in at beginning, also signed and inscribed by ?Pierre Mac Orlan “Certains infants sont si jolis qu’ils resemblent comestible” on half-title, printed in green and black, 15 etched plates by Marc Chagall book-label of N.Harwich on front free endpaper, bound in tan morocco with horizontal rules in gilt and inlays of pink morocco squares and rectangles with horizontal rules in blind across both boards and spine, by Berthey , yellow silk endpapers and doublures, gilt-ruled turn-ins with pink morocco inlaid cornerpieces, signed at foot of front turn-in, original printed wrappers bound in, t.e.g., others uncut, spine a little darkened, marbled board slip-case (rubbed, splits to joints), 4to, Paris, Simon Kra, 1926.
