Vol. one only (of four), 2 o (443 x 280 mm). Engraved title, letterpress title printed in red and black, engraved title vignette, head- and tail-pieces, numerous initial letters. Engraved genealogical folding table (shaved at head), double-page celestial and world maps, and approx. 45 double-page plates and maps. (Scattered soiling, staining and short nicks/tears, preliminaries loose, one map with large dark stain on verso, not affecting recto, a few minor repairs.) Contemporary stained and speckled paneled calf, red morocco lettering-piece on spine (hinges a little weak, lightly rubbed). Provenance : Louis Galabin (contemporary signature on title); William Brinker (bookplate). Phillips 548.
