Woodcut header and printer's device on title, black letter text, woodcut initials and woodcut device on last final page. Contemporary mottled calf, rebacked, marbled endpapers. Wear and scuffing to high points of binding, ink ownership inscription on title page, light staining to title and first few leaves, dark staining to last few leaves of main text and index, a few marginal notations. Provenance: George Baillie, esq. [Scottish parliamentarian, 1664-1738] (bookplate dated 1724); Elisabeth L. Chapin (ownership inscription dated 1883). Fourth edition of this work on common-sense health for students at Oxford, originally published in 1584. Hunter & Macalpine, pp 29-31; ESTC 5482.
