Early, possibly original calf-backed boards, the original label (listing the price as 1 pound 11s. 6d, i.e. one and one-half guineas). 9 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches (25 x 19 cm); title and 49 plates, all engraved and finely hand-colored. Joints cracked, rear board separated, front board holding on cords, other binding wear, internally a clean copy, although one plate with a short marginal tear. An attractive copy with good coloring and early watermarks. The plates differ considerably in order from Abbey, whose copy had watermarks of 1811 and 1814. This copy has The Chiropodist, rather than Pall Mall. Abbey Life 331. C
