Large collection of letters and cards signed by prominent politicians, entrepreneaurs, actors, playwrights, musicians and conductors and addressed to the Viscountess Allenby (formerly Mrs Bendrix). Includes: John D. Rockfeller (autograph letter reading "My Father has counted it a high privilege to be permitted to cooperate with your countrymen in the advancement of some of the splendid medical enterprises in which they are engaged", one page, 8vo, The Eyre, Seal Harbor, Maine, 22 August 1925), Gordon Selfridge, Montgomery of Alamein (autograph letter confirming that "I did indeed spend a few days in your house, but at the time of D.Day in 1944. It was in the early spring of 1942 before I went to Africa in August. I was preparing a large exercise for the army in S.E. England, and needed a quite place in the exercise area when I could work out the details near the scene of the exercise", one page, 8vo, Isington Mill, 2 April 1962), Laurence Olivier, Alec Guinness, Noel Coward, Yehudi Menhuin (typed letter reading "I was so touched by your sweet letter and the generous contribution it contained.
