LASSO DE LA VEGA, Garcia ("El Inca") (1539?-1616). Histoire des guerres civiles des Espagnols,dans les Indes . Amsterdam: Gerard Kuyper, 1706. 4 volumes, 12° (153 x 92 mm). Engraved frontispiece repeated in each volume, four engraved plates and maps, three folding (first frontispiece mostly sprung). Contemporary French calf, spines gilt, royal English arms blindstamped on front cover (joints cracked). Provenance : Charles Viscount Bruce of Ampthill (armorial bookplates on title verso); Marquis of Stafford (bookplates). Third edition in French. Baudoin's translation of Vega's Historia general del Perú , which forms part 2 of the latter's Commentarios reales . The original Spanish edition was published in Cordova in 1616 by the widow of A. de Barrera. The French translation was first published in 1650 and reissued in 1658.
