Half-title. xix, [1], 435 pp. Engraved frontispiece, 12 plates (a few double-page or folding), 2 maps, and 4 hand-colored aquatint plates, wood-engravings in text. 4to (309 x 237 mm). Later cloth. Some foxing to frontis. and title and a few other plates, light offsetting from text to one colored plate, most plates with small marginal inkstamp, cloth chipped at corners and spine ends, well-margined.
