AH 792/1390 AD): DIWAN SIGNED 'ABDULLAH BIN SHAYKH MURSHID AL-KATIB, SAFAVID IRAN, MID 16TH CENTURY Persian manuscript on paper, 179ff. plus five fly-leaves, each folio with 14ll. of elegant black nasta'liq divided in two columns with double gold intercolumnar rule, titles in gold or blue nasta'liq within cartouches across the text, within gold, blue and black rules, with coloured and marbled paper margins, the opening bifolio heavily illuminated with two almond-shape medallions, with red nasta'liq on gold ground, cartouches above and below, colophon signed, later owners' notes at beginning and end, in later stamped brown morocco binding, waterstaining, some repairs Text panel 5¾ x 2 5/8in.
