(Titles slightly browned and spotted, title to vol. I with short tear at outer margin, contents leaf to vol. II with similar short tear, occasional light soiling to plates and text.) Modern crimson half morocco, spine lettered in gilt. A fine monograph, issued in 20 parts, of all the known species of swallows. The illustrations by Wyatt often have a topographical link with the swallow's country of origin. P. Tate, in A Century of Bird Books (p. 20), rightly says that they have 'a rather charming soft quality, and are very pleasing in that they depict in many cases a little scene connected with the area in which the species of swallow occurs.'
