(Villarosa 1908–1978 Messina) Aerei Caproni in volo, 1932/1933 ca., signed G. D’Anna Aeropittore, gouache and collage on paper, 44 x 60 cm, framed This work is registered in the Archivio Storico Futuristi Siciliani, Palermo and it is accompanied by a photo-certificate of authenticity. Provenance: Archivio Storico Futuristi Siciliani, Palermo European Private Collection This gouache and collage executed by Giulio D’Anna in 1932/33 depicts Caproni airplanes flying and it is one of the rare cases in which the artist represents a flight emphasizing the decomposed wing planes and the engine of the plane. This kind of composition was greatly appreciated by Marinetti who, in a speech given in Messina described Giulio D’Anna as an artist who had interpreted Aeropittura in a very personal way: “Without paying attention to what has already been done, which is a Futurist rule”. Salvatore Carbone, curator of the Archivio Storico dei Futuristi Siciliani
