Beschreibung:

1965 JAGUAR E-TYPE 4.2 FIXED HEAD COUPE Chassis No. IE 35781 Red with black leather interior trim. Engine: straight six, two overhead camshafts, three SU HD8 carburettors, 4,235cc, 259bhp at 5,400rpm; Gearbox: four speed manual; Steering: rack and pinion; Suspension: front independent wishbones, longditudinal torsion bars, telescopic dampers, rear independent lower transverse tubular link, twin coil springs, telescopic dampers; Brakes: discs all round. Left-hand drive. The E-Type Jaguar personified the adage that "racing improves the breed". Its D-Type heritage was obvious from the central monocoque and space frame front to the independent rear suspension and disc brakes - which matched the improved performance. Thanks also to its striking looks, it sold in large numbers and took the United States market by storm. This E-Type is a two-seater coupe with an unknown history. It has been refinished in red and its black leather interior trim has probably been renewed. There are some traces of delamination to the windscreen and evidence of corrosion and filler on the sills. It has air-conditioning and a radio. The car is said to be in sound mechanical condition and when Christie's went to look at it, work was being done on the carburettors. It comes with French documents and is sold with No Reserve.
