1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III Lot Number177 RegistrationJGC 695C Chassis NumberS3R423 Engine NumberSR211J Odometer reading97,495 miles Estimate£18,000 - £22,000 ResultSold - £16,414 Print details Send this to a friend This car can be viewed in person from 14th to 18th July 2020 at our the auction site, Windsorview Lakes, Datchet, SL3 9HY The Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud and Bentley S series, announced in April 1955, were provided with the 4,887cc straight six engine of the Bentley R Type Continental producing an estimated 158bhp. Notably for the first time, Rolls-Royce and Bentley models shared the same four-speed automatic transmission, allowing a top speed of 100mph. For the Silver Cloud III models introduced in October 1962, quickly distinguishable by four headlamps, the specification remained unchanged except for the upgraded V8 engine and another increase of around 20hp, which lifted the top speed to 115mph. Showing a mere 97,495 miles on the odometer, this lovely Rolls-Royce has been used sparingly in recent years. Offered in white over a camel leather upholstery the Silver Cloud presents well. The interior has a nice patina and the body and paintwork are generally good. The vendor reports that the car is in running order but would benefit from some cosmetic and mechanical recommissioning to bring it back to its best. Included in the sale is a sizeable history file detailing previous maintenance work and a UK V5C registration document. A perfect opportunity to buy one of the great British motor cars of the last century. The health and safety of both our customers and team remains the utmost priority, we are therefore operating to Government guidelines throughout viewing and auction day.
