British India and the East India Company - Reports from Committees of the House of Commons, Re-printed by Order of the House, four volumes, comprising: Vol V, East Indies - 1781, 1782; Vol VI, East Indies - 1783; Vol VII, East Indies - Carnatic War, &c. 1781 & 1782; Vol VIII, East Indies - Carnatic War, &c. 1781 & 1782, contemporary calf over marbled boards (disbound & perished), red-speckled edges, folios (41.5cm x 27cm), [4] Provenance: 1st) Edward Strutt, 1st Baron Belper, PC, FRS (1801 - 1880), his canted bookplates of the Strutt crest surmounted by a baron's cornet; 2nd) presumably sold by his descendants, probably at the Christie's sale, Printed Books: The Property of the Lord Belper, December 15th, 1976; 3rd) Presented by Dr J.A. Samuel to Nottingham Public Libraries, their stamps and bookplates.
