London: James Flesher for R. Royston, 1662. 2 volumes, 2 o (354 x 228 mm). Engraved frontispiece, engraved title-page, engraved vignette on second title-page, three double-page plates, by W. Hollar and A. Hertocks, and initials, preliminaries and plates neatly ruled in red, one leaf printed in red and black. (Without the extra and frequently missing leaf with the epitaph "M.S. Sanctissimi Regis" and the additional frontispiece noted in some copies, minor margial worming at beginning of second volume). Contemporary black goatskin with gilt double-fillets, gilt corner pieces, spines elaborately gilt in six compartments, gilt lettered morocco lettering-piece in second, gilt all over design of tulips and vine, edges gilt (minor repair to lower joint of second volume). Provenance : Anthony Earle of Kent (bookplate); Thomas Philip, Earl de Grey (bookplate); Viscount Mersey, Bignor Park, (bookplate); Walter T. Shirley II (bookplate). FIRST EDITION.
