Serial no. 4197 for 1861, .36 caliber. 4 1/2 inch barrel. Blued, casehardened and silver-plated finish. Varnished walnut grips. Complete with original purple velour-lined Colt case. Accessories include blued steel two-cavity Colt's Patent mold, unopened Eley cap tin wrapped in Eley broadside and three packages of skin cartridges for Col. Colt's Patent New Model Revolving Police Pistol. Also included is a very rare Colt's Patent-marked eagle and shield flask with the panel scene appearing on both sides. Condition: Excellent and possibly unfired. Barrel retains 75% dark blue finish with balance flaked. Cylinder with 99% blue finish. Frame and loading lever retain 98% vivid casehardening colors. Triggerguard/gripstraps with 100% silver plating. Excellent grips. Case lid with few minor blemishes. Lining showing light wear and staining. Mold excellent. Packages of skin cartridges are unopened but with two have tears to the top, the third, now taped, has split from humidity. Cap tin with scuffs to label, the broadside with tears and folds. Flask is excellent and retains nearly all brown lacquer and gilt finish. See Illustration
