Titles printed in red and black, woodcut music in text (one and a half pages), large folding sheet with engraved map of Jamaica and charts of the Western Ocean and 'Caribee Islands' [Plate I], and 284 fine double-page or folding plates labeled "Plate II-XI" and "Tab 1-274" mostly by Michael Vander Gucht or John Savage mounted on guards; possibly washed, "Tab 1 bound in vol 2, 8 plates lightly browned, light dampstain in upper outer corner of some plates in vol 1 and in lower margin of some in vol 2, a few plates slightly shaved with loss of image or number. Contemporary mottled calf, spines in seven compartments with raised bands gilt, sprinkled red edges; rebacked with original spine laid down, corners mended, scuffed.
