Among others, the catalogue Darwin's Century: The Jeremy Norman Collection (London, 11 December 1992) is of the greatest import. As Jeremy Norman himself states in his Introduction to the catalogue, "The core of the collection remains the Darwin material, which, while not totally complete, represents the most extensive collection of presentation and association copies of his works ever offered for sale. This collection also contains some ephemera unrecorded by Freeman in his bibliography [...] One of the unusual features of my Darwin collection are a number of books in special original cloth bindings expressly prepared for presentation with their edges trimmed by the binder. Only a few copies of each book were prepared in this way and the bibliographer of Darwin's writings, Richard Freeman [i.e. Freeman's The Works of Charles Darwin: An Annotated Bibliographical Handlist], made no mention of them". Noteworthy is also the catalogue of the collection owned by Clinton Ives Smullyan Jr. (Graham Greene The Collection of Clinton Ives Smullyan Jr., London, 16 December 1996), entirely devoted to Graham Greene's work.
