The new car featured an enlarged 2,912cc version of Austin's six-cylinder engine with twin SU carburettors and Girling front disc brakes offering excellent performance resulting in the model becoming a great success. The car's bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at the BMC Abingdon works. The 3000 was a successful car which won its class in many European rallies during its heyday and also ran at Le Mans during that period; as such, it is still used in competition by enthusiasts today. Repatriated to the UK in 2016 and registered as 856 UYT with the DVLA, this lefthand drive Austin Healey is in delightful condition throughout. The bodywork is exceptionally tidy with no dents or corrosion and the black leather trim is also in very good order. Described as being in very good order mechanically, it is fitted with a five-speed Supra gearbox, however the original gearbox is supplied with the car.
