D’abord entrainé par un quatre cylindres sous le capot de l’Austin Healey 100/4, le roadster adopte rapidement un moteur six cylindres en ligne pour près de trois litres et développant alors 125 chevaux dans sa première version ce qui lui conféra le surnom de « Big Healey ». Trois versions d’Austin Healey 3000 se suivirent jusqu’en 1968 avec la BJ8 qui offre des performances très convenables pour l’époque. La MK1 était disponible en deux versions : une deux places, la BJ7 et un 4 places, le BT7. L’exemplaire que nous proposons est un BT7 de 1960 se présentant dans un bon état général. En effet dernièrement de nombreux frais ont été effectués. L’embrayage, l’overdrive, les freins et l’échappement sont neufs. L’allumage a quant à lui a été remplacé pour un électronique, améliorant l’agrément et la fiabilité. Initially powered by a four-cylinder engine under the hood of the Austin Healey 100/4, the roadster soon adopted an in-line six-cylinder engine developing almost three liters and 125 horsepower in its first version, earning it the nickname "Big Healey". Three versions of the Austin Healey 3000 followed until 1968, with the BJ8 offering very decent performance for its time. The MK1 was available in two versions: a two-seater, the BJ7, and a 4-seater, the BT7. The example we are offering is a BT7 from 1960, in good overall condition. A lot of work has been carried out recently. The clutch, overdrive, brakes and exhaust are all new. As for the ignition, it has been replaced by an electronic one, improving both comfort and reliability.
