1985 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Roadster Lot Number354 RegistrationB299 UWX Chassis Number1070462A021031 Engine Number11796222004891 Odometer reading16,836 miles Estimate£52,000 - £65,000 Print details Send this to a friend 22 more images Unrestored original car in stunning order Warranted low mileage collectors’ example The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 cars were produced from 1971 through to 1989. The R107, SL variant was a two-seat convertible with standard soft top, hardtop and optional foldable seats for the rear bench. This 5.0 litre V8 is an exquisite example of Mercedes-Benz’ second longest running model series, an incredibly unique car as it remains, after all these years, in original showroom condition. A true time capsule of a car, without so much as a respray, retrim or any cosmetic work, it remains all original and presents in ‘as new’ condition having only covered 16,836 miles in its life. The car has been carefully looked after; initially by one lady owner and since the early 2000’s in private collections, from where it is being offered for sale, all of whom have ensured the car has been impeccably preserved. Finished in champagne metallic with a graphite undertone; a very rare addition for this specification, this very well specified car also boasts the well-appointed ‘Dattel’ and burrwood interior which displays almost no signs of wear as one would expect with an example of this age with such low mileage. We are informed the bodywork and underside of the car remain as when it left Charles Sidney Mercedes-Benz in 1983 with the benefit of having perfect shut lines and no blemishes or previous signs of repair. Other features include the original toolkit and first aid kit, both still wrapped in their original unopened plastic coverings. This 500 SL also comes with an equally well kept hardtop and original radio head unit. An R107 such as this is truly a rare find; the combination of low mileage and stunning original condition is sure to attract attention and viewing is strongly recommended.
