1985 Mercedes-Benz 380 SL Roadster Lot Number152 RegistrationB237 FHK Chassis Number1070452A025818 Engine Number11696222037222 Odometer reading76,435 miles Estimate£18,000 - £22,000 Print details Send this to a friend The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class has been manufactured since 1954. The designation SL derives from the German 'Sport Leicht' or 'Sport Light' and was first applied to the 300 SL 'Gullwing,' named after the upward-opening doors. The term SL-Class refers to the marketing variations of the vehicle, including the numerous engine configurations spanning five design generations. The R107 took the chassis components of the mid-size W114 model and mated them to the larger engines from the S-Class (W116) and has become a benchmark of quality throughout the years. Over its seventeen year reign, the R107 range was powered by no less than eight different engines - two sizes of straight-six unit and six versions of V8s. This Mercedes-Benz 380 SL is presented in metallic green with contrasting cream trim which is in lovely condition thoughtout. Offered with a low mileage of just 76,435 which represents an average of less than 6,000 miles a year, this 380 is perhaps the best balance with the desirable larger V8 engine. Our vendor has owned this example for 12 years and in this time he has used the car sparingly. We are informed that accompanying the car is a good service history with the original service booklet, radio manual and spare keys. The optional extras with the car included electric seats, original wireless central locking, a wind deflector and hardtop stand. The hardtop is in very good order as is the soft top and this car represents all that is great about the iconic R107 Mercedes-Benz. Offered with a valid MoT test certificate we strongly advise viewing of this fabulous example.
