Offered for sale is a 2.8L 1986 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen 280GE LWB automatic that has been with the current owner for the last year. Coming with a partial history file, this lot's condition scores 81 / 135.
Classic Car Auctions says: The much sought-after, classic G-Wagen (W460 variant). This example has benefitted from a full, bare-metal, glass out respray in its original Metallic Blue. The vendor has and carried out many essential upgrades including the important (and very costly) genuine Mercedes-Benz plastic fuel tank upgrade with all new fuel pumps and lines and necessary parts. It also boasts brand new BF Goodrich AT tyres, which have been fitted all-round on the genuine factory option 15" alloy rims. A custom stainless steel exhaust system has been fitted (and sounds incredible!), and the brown and beige (Burberry check) vehicle interior is genuine and in very good order without rips and tears. The odometer displays 40,600 miles, but Mercedes records show a replacement engine being fitted at c70,000. A genuine and honest example offered in an unmolested original state and in great all round cosmetic condition. An appreciating classic Mercedes.
