Comprising 4 coffee table books written and photographed by Roddy McDowell, all published by William Morrow and Company, Inc., entitled Double Exposure (1966, renewed 1990), Double Exposure: Take Two (1989), Double Exposure: Take Three (1992), and Double Exposure: Take Four (1993). All but one are inscribed to Osborne by Roddy McDowell, including one which teases: "Love to you / you awful Robert / Always / Roddy;" Kings Row by Henry Bellamann (Kingdom House, 1982) with an inscription by actress Ida Lupino, who initially turned down a role in the film version of Kings Row (1942) because she felt it was "beneath her as an artist." This volume also includes Osborne's business card from The Hollywood Reporter attached to a Bambi (1942) bookmark and some handwritten notes taped to the inside back cover; The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck (The John Day Company, 1931), inscribed by actress Luise Rainer, who won the Best Actress Academy Award® for her performance in the 1937 film version of the book. Osborne uses a Luise Rainer cigarette card for his bookmark in this volume; Lassie Come-Home by Eric Knight (John C. Winston Company, 1945) inscribed by Roddy McDowall, who appeared in the 1943 film version; Behind the Screen by Samuel Goldwyn (George H. Doran Company, 1923); and Anthony Adverse by Hervey Allen (Farrar and Rinehart, Inc., 1933) inscribed to Osborne by Olivia de Havilland with a note from her underneath the book cover inscribed: "For Bob / Enjoy!" De Havilland appeared in the film version of this book which also stars Fredric March. Osborne and de Havilland were dear friends for many years; she granted few interviews over the years but was always willing to accommodate Osborne.
