A Fine Scale Model of the American Whaleship Charles W. Morgan Castello Ship Models (American, 20th century) A very fine museum quality ship model built up from the solid in 3/16" scale. The hull of the model has a copper plated bottom, black topsides and a white waist. The decks of the model are planked in basswood and the deck is fitted with numerous details which include anchors, anchor windlass, try-works, hatches, whale boats rigged on davits, helm, carved stern eagle, rudder, with other details. The model is well rigged with three masts and bowsprit, standing and running rigging, American flag, and is displayed on keel blocks on a grey base board in a glass case with a mahogany base and stand. 40½ x 17½ x 60¾ in. (102.9 x 44.5 x 154.3 cm.) cased dimensions on stand. Built ca. 1972
