A Fine Scale Model Of The Tugboat J.C. Stevenson C.G. Hooper; British, 20th century A fine and detailed 1:100 scale model of the Tyne Improvement Tug J.C. Stevenson , originally built by Hepple & Co. in 1883. The hull of the model is built up from wood and painted with black topsides, a green bottom and a white waterline. The model is fitted with numerous details and includes: mast and rigging, anchor, winch, ventilators, companionways, bridge with helm, binnacle, railings with spray curtains, stayed funnel with safety valve extension pipe, aft glazed saloon with interior seating and tables and ship's boat with thwarts and oars in davits and other details. The model is mounted on two turned brass columns and displayed in a mahogany framed glass case with brass feet. 16 7/8 x 6½ x 9½ in. (42.3 x 16.5 x 24.2 cm.) cased dimensions.
