Maps of North America, Mexico and the United States all show California, the Southwest and Texas belonging to Mexico up to just past the 40th latitude line. United States map with states east of the Mississippi settled, but west of the Mississippi only Louisiana, Missouri and a large Arkansas shown as states; the Missouri Territory up through the mid-west and to the present-day Oregon/Washington area with many of the rivers, mountain ranges and Indian tribal names marked and/or named; also, insets of the Oregon Territory and the southern portion of Florida.
