Vignon, engraved title vignette, 2 portraits by Nanteuil of the dedicatee, Henri d' Orléans, Duc de Longueville, 12 engraved plates by Bosse after Vignon, engraved head- and tailpieces and initials. (First portrait remargined and tipped in, the first plate supplied from a shorter copy, one plate with closed tear at lower margin, some browning and dampstaining to text, marginal repairs to 2 leaves). Contemporary Parisian red morocco gilt, covers with dentelle border enclosing a semé of fleurs-de-lys, spine in compartments with lettering-piece and smaller fleurs-de-lys, g.e. (Extremities lightly rubbed, corners a little bumped). FIRST EDITION. Brunet I, 1794; Tchemerzine III, 239.
